In October 2002 unemployment was 2.2%.
Before 1989 there was hardly any unemployment, but after the economic recession, which started at the end of 1989, unemployment rose to nearly 25% and then fell per April 1995 to: 16%
By April 1996 it was 14%, per April 1997 11% and per Aug. 1998 7%
