Faroe Islands in UEFA EURO 2008 Group B
FAROE ISLANDS competing against: FRANCE, ITALY, SCOTLAND, LITHUANIA, GEORGIA AND UKRAINE.
An exciting time for the Faroe Islands as the group contains the World Cup 2006 champions, runners up and finalists.
The Faroese team represents a country of less than 50.000 people but although the country is tiny it looks forward to taking on the giants. It has managed to make it's presence felt since it joined UEFA in 1990.
 In 1990 in its first ever competitive international it beat Austria (one of the two hosts for EURO 2008) 1-0. A number of major teams have had some surprises including World cup runner up France. Two of its previous matches against Scotland resulted in draws (in June 99 and September 02).
